About Kentucky Football Scoreboard
A free Kentucky high school scoreboard, run by one person, paid for out of pocket. Schedules and scores for every KHSAA school — no account, no app, nothing to sign up for.
Why this exists
The Riherds Scoreboard carried Kentucky high school scores for nearly three decades and closed on 30 June 2026. For most of that time it was simply where you went on a Friday night. When it went away, nothing replaced it — so I built this.
I'm Matt Stearsman. I'm not a journalist and I don't work for the KHSAA. I'm a Kentucky sports parent who got tired of not being able to find out whether a school won, and decided that was a solvable problem.
How the scores get here
Every score on this board was typed in by a person. Coaches, athletic directors, statisticians, reporters, and parents in the bleachers. There is no feed being copied from somewhere else and no scraper pulling from another site.
Every school in Kentucky has one permanent reporting code. Anybody in a program who has it can post a score in about ten seconds — including while the game is still being played, which is the part people actually use. The board shows the game in progress with the current score, so the parents who couldn't make the drive are following along instead of waiting on a text.
How reporting works explains it properly, including how to get your school's code.
What it does that a spreadsheet doesn't
- Live scores, updated while the game is happening.
- Every KHSAA school has a page with its schedule, results and record.
- District and region standings that compute themselves from reported finals — nobody types those in.
- Box scores and player stats where a program sends them.
What this site won't do
No login wall, no app you have to install, and no charging fans to find out a score. It's free and it stays free — I've put that in writing to every coach I've emailed and I'm not going to go back on it.
It won't run pop-ups or anything that covers the scores, and it won't sell your reading habits. The traffic counter here doesn't set a cookie and can't tell today's visit from yesterday's. See the privacy policy for the details.
Where it's honest about being incomplete
A board built from reported scores is only as complete as the reporting, and pretending otherwise would be the fastest way to lose a coach's trust. So a team's win–loss record is hidden rather than shown whenever it has played a game nobody has sent a score for — a record that understates a real season is worse than no record at all.
Out-of-state opponents don't get a record here either. This board only ever sees the one game they play against a Kentucky school, and publishing "1–0" for a team that's really 4–3 in Ohio would be a made-up fact about somebody's season.
Corrections
Something wrong on a page is my problem to fix, not yours to live with. Wrong score, wrong date, misspelled name, a game that never happened — email matt@kyhssports.com or send the correction and it gets fixed. Usually the same day.
Independence
This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association, ArbiterSports, or the Riherds Scoreboard. The KHSAA's own system is ArbiterLive.com, and it's worth knowing about. More about what happened to Riherds.
If you run a program and something here would be more useful in a different shape — a page you wish existed, a stat you keep and would like shown — say so. Most of what's on this site is here because somebody asked for it.
