What we collect

If you just read the site

Nothing is required of you. We do not ask you to register, and we do not build a profile of you. Our server keeps ordinary web logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested, the time) as part of running the site securely.

Your browser stores your followed teams locally, on your own device, so the “My teams” filter remembers them. That list is never transmitted to us and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data erases it.

If you report a score

We store what you type on the form, which is:

The IP address is kept for one reason: so that if somebody starts posting fake scores we can stop them. It is not used for advertising and it is not shared. Your name and contact details, if you provide them, are used only to check a score with you when something looks wrong.

Your name is not published on the site. Reported scores appear without attribution unless you have specifically asked us to credit you or your outlet.

If you are a coach, athletic director, or member of the media

We keep your school, your name, and your email address so we can send you your school's reporting code and follow up during the season. Reply to any message asking to be removed and we will delete it.

Student athletes

Game pages may include a player's name alongside statistics from a game — passing, rushing, and receiving lines. This is the same information printed in local newspapers and read on the radio, and it comes from the schools themselves: only someone holding a school's reporting code can enter a box score. The general public cannot add a player's name to this site.

We limit what can be published to:

We do not publish addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, dates of birth, class year, photographs, academic information, or medical or injury information about any student athlete, and the site provides no way to submit any of it.

Asking us to remove a name

If you are a student athlete, a parent or guardian, or a school official and you want a player's name taken off this site, email matt@kyhssports.com with the player's name and the school. We will remove it, and we will not ask you to justify the request. Our goal is to have it done within two business days.

Team scores are a matter of public record and stay on the site. Individual statistics attached to a name do not have to.

Children under 13

This site is intended for a general audience — fans, families, coaches, and media — not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are under 13, please do not put your name or contact details in the score form. If we learn we have collected such information, we delete it.

Advertising

This site currently shows no advertising and sets no advertising cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated before any ads appear, and it will name the ad provider and how to opt out.

Cookies

This site itself sets one cookie, and only for its administrator:

Ordinary readers are not given a cookie by this site.

What we never do

How long we keep things

Scores, schedules, and standings are kept indefinitely — the archive is the point. Submitter contact details and IP addresses are kept for the current season plus one year, then deleted. Anything you ask us to remove is removed when you ask.

Your choices

Email matt@kyhssports.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. There is no form to fill out and no account to close.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and the database is not publicly accessible. No system is perfectly secure, but there is also very little here worth stealing: no passwords belonging to readers, no payment details, and no addresses.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the new version goes up before the change takes effect.
